ThyssenKrupp
Steel innovation

  • Achieved a break through in sheet coil steel with the creation of the ZM Ecoprotect® zinc-magnesium anti-corrosion coating.
  • Provides enhanced protection against corrosion and rust compared to conventional zinc coatings.
  • The material includes ZM130g/m2, which is stronger than Zn275 g/m2, with magnesium extending the protective properties of zinc and preventing rapid washout. The steel surface remains rust-resistant even at cut edges.

Structure of
ThyssenKrupp Pre-painted
steel coils

Material Composition:

The corrosion protection of steel is ensured by the innovative zinc-magnesium coating ZM Eco Protect (ZM 130 g/m²). Pre-painted steel coils have a multilayer paint coating with a thickness of 35~36 microns provides protection and gives the surface a structured appearance, so the color intensity remains unchanged for decades. The backside of the metal is coated with a protective epoxy with a thickness of 10 microns.

ZM Eco Protect® is a special zinc-magnesium (ZM) anti-corrosion coating that provides twice as effective protection against corrosion compared to traditional zinc (Z) coating.

Tests have shown that ZM 130 g/m² coating offers the same level of anti-corrosion protection (possibly even higher) as Z 275 g/m².

Comparison with
Traditional and Other
Steel Roofing Materials

Traditional Roofing Materials

ThyssenKrupp steel offers longer lifespan and better durability compared to asphalt shingles and wood, with lower maintenance costs and overall lifecycle benefits. This resistance to elements and superb look make for a superior roofing in all facets.
